Dear BSBMTCT member,
Hope you are all enjoying your well deserved holidays and we look forward to seeing you all again after the summer holidays.
Just a shortish bulletin on this occasion, mainly to remind ourselves of key dates.

The next joint meeting of IMPACT and BSBMTCT CTSC is being held in Birmingham on Thursday October 20th. This will be held mainly as a face to face meeting with dial in options. More details to follow shortly.
Another date for the diary is the BSBMTCT Scientific Day 2023 to be held on Wednesday 17 May 2023, hopefully as an in-person meeting. Matt Collin, as our Scientific Secretary, is already on the case!
Covid-19 is certainly still with us and at high levels with the current variant. With BSBMTCT input, the NICE Covid-19 guidance NG164 for HSCT has been updated Overview | COVID-19 rapid guideline: haematopoietic stem cell transplantation | Guidance | NICE. As before, the NICE links closely with the more detailed BSBMTCT guidelines https://bsbmtct.org/bsbmtct-and-covid/ which are continually updated under the leadership of Ram Malladi.
Ruxolitinib ‘campaign’ – we are lobbying with Anthony Nolan and others to restore funded access to Ruxolitinib for graft-versus-host-disease – hopefully we will be able to regain the easy access supported during the pandemic to this valuable, evidence-based drug.
We will be sending out a survey soon to assess and promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within BSBMTCT. Please complete it – it will be invaluable to the future of our Society, as well as meeting various requirements as a professional and charitable organisation.
Our very best wishes…
John Snowden, Kim Orchard, Fiona Dignan, Deborah Richardson, Eduardo Olavarria, & Julia Lee
