29 January 2025, Issue 1 2025

Dear BSBMTCT member,

Happy 2025 and wishing you all a happy, healthy and productive 2025!

The Trustees and Executive Committee would also like to convey their gratitude for all of your helpful and insightful written and face to face responses to our BSBMTCT strategic review consultation process last year. We have assimilated all of your responses and are delighted this month to launch our new BSBMTCT Strategic Plan 2025-2030, which will be landing in your inbox shortly, and can be found at https://bsbmtct.org/bsbmtct-strategic-plan-2025-2030/ We are thrilled with the engagement and enthusiasm this has generated amongst member centres, and with the very helpful feedback and comments that you will find represented in the Plan.

Our very top priority now is to meet with potential partners to explore together how we might do more together, facilitating increases in capacity within the Society and Registry. We will of course keep you informed of major developments. We commend our new Strategic Plan to you, but that does not mean that our work is at an end, or that we have stopped listening. We will be aiming to develop business plans for each of our Strategic Aims, and of course, would value your thoughts on its contents. Do feed them into Julia and David at julia.lee@kcl.ac.uk  and david.reynolds@bsbmtct.org

We would like to congratulate and welcome our new BSBMTCT Secretary and Trustee, Dr Victoria Potter to the Board of Trustees. The society is delighted to have her on board. We would also like to thank Victoria for all her hard work as Chair of the Indications Sub Committee and Clinical Trials Sub Committee (CTSC) Secretary as she steps down from both these roles. We would also like to say a big Thank You and Goodbye to Dr Ram Malladi who steps down as CTSC Chair as he goes to pursue a different career path. Ram has worked with the CTSC for a number of years, and we are very grateful for his leadership and support, especially to the registry over the years.

Our current 2025 Executive Committee can be seen here https://bsbmtct.org/executive-committee/

This means that there are now 3 vacancies within the BSBMTCT which have just been announced.  We are looking for 2 Co-Chairs for the CTSC and a Chair of the Indications Sub Committee. These are open to the whole membership, and we encourage you to apply and get involved. Deadline for nominations are midnight Friday 21st February. Please email Julia.lee@kcl.ac.uk if you have any questions.

The 2024 main commissioners report and centre reports have now been released and circulated to those that have paid their membership fees. Thank you all for your patience with receiving these reports. It has been challenging but we got there. We are asking centres to check their reports and to feedback to us with any discrepancies and queries by the 31st January. We will be sending the finalised centre reports to commissioners in February ahead of the Clinical Reference Group (CRG) Quality Review process (NHS England centres only) which will take place in March. NHS Scotland will receive the Scottish reports in February.

We are still chasing some membership payments from 2024; we would be grateful if you could please expedite these payments. The 2025 membership subscription invoices will be sent to all centres in April and the Trustees have decided that there will not be an increase in membership fees this year.

The 2025 EBMT Congress Meeting Grant round has now closed and we were able to fund 12 individuals to attend EBMT Congress in Florence this year with a total funding amount of just under £10k. We hope they all enjoy Congress, and we look forward to hearing all about it in their feedback reports.

We wrote to centres regarding the publication of centre reports in August 2024 asking for feedback. Thank you to everyone that has responded and given us some invaluable feedback and suggestion. We also sought feedback from the UKSCSF Community Advisory Group (CAG) in December 2024. We are now assimilating this feedback to create a version of your own centre reports for you to review, and if you are happy with them, they will then be made public. Exact details of when and how have yet to be determined, however, we will consult with centres before anything is finalised. If you have any queries or concerns in regards to this, please contact Julia at Julia.lee@kcl.ac.uk or Deborah at deborah.richardson@uhs.nhs.uk
