Dear BSBMTCT member,
We hope that we see the return of the sun as we approach the summer months after a slightly moist Bank Holiday weekend. Here are some updates since April.
We had our BSBMTCT Scientific Day on the Wednesday 21st May on the theme “The Biology of Chronic GVHD”. Thank you to Professor Matthew Collin for another excellent programme with some outstanding speakers from across the board, as well as some excellent candidates competing in the John Goldman Abstract Prize Competition. A huge thank you to Professor Christopher Buckley, Professor Clare Bennett, Professor Daniel Wolff, Professor Satu Mustjoki, Dr Sandeep Potluri and Professor Gerard Socie for their inspiring talks and participation. We would also like to congratulate our two winners of the John Goldman Abstract Prize, Lisanne Schoutens and Rebecca Goodhew.
We concluded the votes for the 2nd Co-Chair of the Clinical Trials Sub Committee (CTSC) at the end of last week. We are delighted to announce Dr Anjum Khan as our 2nd Co-Chair who will be joining Dr Pramila Krishnamurthy to support the work of the BSBMTCT CTSC. Our next CTSC meeting will be on Tuesday 1st July 11-3pm (via MS Teams) where there will be a call for new proposals! Please contact Julia Lee at julia.lee@kcl.ac.uk for more information.
We wanted to say a massive Thank You to Professor Thushan de Silva who steps down as Chair of the BSBMTCT Vaccinations Sub Committee. We are grateful that Thushan will continue to support this work with his expertise alongside his very business schedule working as a member of the British Infection Association leadership group. We will be looking for a Chair in the next month, so do please look out for the nomination forms.
We are extending the deadline for the 16th Edition of BSBMTCT Executive Summary of Transplant & Cellular Therapy Outcomes in UK and ROI from 30th May until the 30th June 2025. This includes all transplants performed between 2019 and 2023 inclusive and all cellular therapy treatments where relevant. Please ensure all treatment for these dates are entered into the registry along with the relevant follow up. Please contact Julia Lee at julia.lee@kcl.ac.uk if you have any queries.
Thank you all for helping with the payment of the invoices for the 2025 BSBMTCT Subscription. Your help and support to the BSBMTCT is very much appreciated.
