November 2025, Issue 11

Dear BSBMTCT member,

November has been a busy month with lots of BSBMTCT events. It has been lovely to see and meet so many of you. It was kicked off with our Education Day on the 4th November, organised by Dr Victoria Potter, our BSBMTCT Secretary. We held a special session for BSBMTCT Medical Statistician Rachel Pearce, presenting her with an award “In recognition of outstanding long services, commitment and dedication to the BSBMTCT”. Rachel retires at the end of December 2025. Thank you to all the speakers and sponsors for the day for making it so inspiring and memorable.

The BSBMTCT Data Registry Team also held their 8th Annual Data Management Training Day on the 13th November 2025, a fully virtual and free event for all data management staff. The theme this year was “Rare Diseases” and we are very grateful to have had 3 fantastic speakers: Professor John Snowden, Dr Austin Kulasekararaj and Dr Reem Elfeky give their insights into Multiple Sclerosis, Aplastic Anaemia and Inborn Errors respectively. Thank you all for your time!

The BSBMTCT CTSC group co-chaired by Dr Pramila Krishnamurthy and Dr Anjum Khan had their bi-annual meetings on the 18th November 2025, which was very well attended despite the challenges with the strikes. Thank you to everyone that attended to give an update on their already approved studies and to those who came to present a new proposal. There is lots of interests in studies which is great to see.

The UK Clinical Community Consensus Statement on the Emerging use of PTCy is now available on our website: https://bsbmtct.org/guidelines-sub-committee/.
